
Suzanne Pleshette, born 31 January 1937, and died 19 January 2008 was an American film theatre, television, and voice actress. Pleshette began her professional career in the theater, and she appeared in films towards the end of the 1950s. Later, she appeared in films that were notable, such as Rome Adventure (1962), Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (1963), or Spirited Away (192001). Then, she was in various television shows and was frequently as a guest actor. She played Emily Hartley in The Bob Newhart Show, 1972-1978 in which she won several Emmy Award nominations. Pleshette was the daughter of Geraldine (nee Kaplan),[1 and Eugene Pleshette, was born on the 31st of January 1937 in Brooklyn Heights. Her parents were Jewish immigrants from Russia and Austria-Hungary. Her mother was a dancer, artist and choreographer, performing under the stage name Geraldine Rivers. Her father was the stage director for the Paramount Theater, Manhattan, and the Paramount Theater, Brooklyn.
