
Anthony David Gonzalez was born on the 27th of February, 1976 in Torrance, California. He was raised in the southern part of California, and attended Huntington Beach High School where Gonzalez was a star player on both basketball and football teams. Gonzalez was a star in these sports at the University of California, Berkeley. He played a key role in leading the football team to the 1996 Aloha Bowl. There, Gonzalez set a record in the school for receptions with nine, and was able to tie it. Gonzalez led the basketball team to the Sweet 16 of NCAA basketball tournament just a few months after. After graduation from high school in 1997, he was selected for the NFL Draft. Gonzalez was chosen as the 13th overall selection by the Kansas City Chiefs. Gonzalez was in the Chiefs between 1997 and 2008. Gonzalez was transferred to the Atlanta Falcons. Starting in Gonzalez's second season in the NFL He never caught less than 59 of them in a season.
